Shaped by Nature

At MĀUA, sustainability isn’t just a corporate checkbox; it is the vital foundation upon which our entire brand is built.

Our Commitment to the Land

We believe that true luxury lies in harmony with nature, which is why we commit to proactive and transparent sustainability practices designed to actively protect and preserve the local ecosystem.

Rather than merely minimizing our footprint, we take deliberate steps to nourish and regenerate the environments we call home, ensuring that our presence leaves a positive, lasting legacy.

By fostering complete transparency in our methods, we invite our guests to connect deeply with the land, sharing in a mindful journey that honors, respects, and sustains the natural world for generations to come.

East Taranaki Environmental Collective

East Taranaki Environment Trust (ETET) is a registered charitable trust and trades as East Taranaki Environment Collective (ETEC). We are dedicated to protecting the ecosystem and biodiversity in East Taranaki.

Our efforts and our approach are aimed towards restoring the eco-system and increasing native biodiversity of our 18,000 hectare project area.

We are proud to be associated with one of the largest community environment schemes in New Zealand.

Our Property Initiatives

MĀUA Nusa Penida are deeply proud of our alliance with the Friends of the National Parks Foundation (FNPF). Through this collaboration, MĀUA serves as a vital sanctuary for the Jalak (the iconic Bali Starling), an avian jewel brought back from the brink of extinction.

Olive tree plantation in MĀUA Olea Ubud is a champion of sustainability, it requires little water and can thrive for thousands of years. MĀUA Olea Ubud mirrors this resilience through its Eco-Retreat Concept.
